Explanation of bill

A – Kilowatt Hour Reading (Kwh) displayed on the meter which is stored at the end of the current month.

B – Kilowatt Hour Reading (Kwh) displayed on the meter which is stored at the end of the previous month.

C – The difference between the present and previous Kwh reading from the meter (A – B)

D – Factor by which actual energy consumption has been divided to accommodate reading on display digit

E – Actual energy consumption for the current month    (C x D = E)

F – Peak demand recorded within a month on the meter display

G – Factor by which the actual peak demand has been divided to accommodate reading on display digit

H – Actual peak demand within a month ( H = F x G)

I – Average power factor recorded in a month

J – Threshold power factor set by PURC

K – The difference between threshold power factor and average power factor ( J – I)

L – The rate given per customer category multiplied by the KWH consumption for the month (rate x E = L)

M – The rate given per customer category multiplied by the Max. KVA for the month (rate x H = M)

N – The PF surcharge is given only when the power factor is below 0.95 ( K x M = N)

O – The sum of the KWH charge and the PF surcharge (L + N = O)

P – Total amount outstanding from previous bills

Q – Amount billed for the month

R – Service charge

S – The sum of the billed amount and the service charge (Q + R = S)

T – The total amount billed for the month

U – The sum of the total amount outstanding and the amount billed for the month (P + T = U)
